Summer is here, and the youngest members of the family can't wait to make sand castles and jump waves. In the Region of Murcia, we have wonderful fine sand, warm, shallow beaches, where different activities for children take place, so that families can enjoy a funny, relaxing day or vacation..
MAZARRÓN
Playa del Castellar - Castellar Beach

With a wide range of services and the Q for tourist Quality, as well as children's play area, daily activities during July and August, toilets and changing rooms, chiringuito, hotel and restaurant. It is 1170m long and has an approximate width of 26m; it has shallow waters and coarse golden sand. Civil Protection lifeguard.
Playa de Bahía - Bahía Beach

It is well equipped, with easy access and big car parks, hotel, restaurants, chiringuitos, toilets, foot-washing station... Next to the Yacht Club, it is perfect for nautical sports. It has a big slope, quiet waters, fine golden sand; it is about 590m long and 22m wide. Civil Protection lifeguard. Blue Flag beach.
Playa de Bolnuevo - Bolnuevo Beach

It is prepared to play sports such as beach volleyball. Civil Protection service, toilets, foot-washing station, chiringuito, restaurants and coffee shops. Fine golden sand. 1600m long (it is the longest within the municipality) and more than 30m wide. The 'Erosiones de Bolnuevo' -Bolnuevo Erosions-, which are the Region's First Natural Monument, are at this beach, together with the Horses' Museum and the hermitage of La Purísima, Mazarrón's Patron Saint.

Playa de Las Delicias - Las Delicias Beach

Another big beach in this locality, between the Yacht Club and the Promontorio de La Aguilica -La Aguilica Promontory-. It is nowadays one of the best beaches, with grey sand which gets smoothly in the sea and a sandy seabed -except for a small part by the mouth of 'Las Culebras' watercourse-. It covers almost the whole Bahía de Levante -Levante Bay-, which is considered to be one of the nicest bays in the Mediterranean. A beach and a marina with Blue Flag since 1992 and the Q for Quality. There are plenty of facilities available, including a beach sports area. It offers assisted bathing for those with reduced mobility.
Playa de La Colonia - La Colonia Beach

Urban beach, open to the south, partially protected from the easterly wind thanks to the Castle promontory, where it was born. It extends to the breakwater, where the Poniente beach ends. The old fishmonger's, the Poniente port and the balnearios used to be there. It is surrounded by gardens, palms, recreational areas, children's and sports games.

7km away from Águilas, and with excellent access. There are several residential areas now where the fishermen's hamlet was for centuries, around the Almadraba, which no longer exists. The Cabo de Cope 'Cope Cape' protects it to the east like a stunning, vigilant guardian, so that it is a splendid anchorage for boats. Facing south, with fine sands that get smoothly in the sea, a sandy seabed and clean, crystal clear waters. The old jetty, which is now used by small boats and diving clubs, is a witness of the past, when the Almadraba catches -frigate mackerel, tuna, albacore- used to be taken there
Playa de Levante - Levante Beach

It is located in the city centre by the boardwalk, and it is part of the bay Bahía del Levante. It extends over a huge area between the city's marina and its fishing port. With sandy seabed and easily accessible, this is one of the most emblematic beaches of Águilas

Cortina cove is just 4km away from the city of Cartagena; it is 250m long and has coarse golden sand. It is well equipped and has a Seafront Promenade to enjoy pleasant walks. It has a children's play area, a picnic area, a seafront promenade, loungers and sunshades, as well as a restaurant. Just a few metres away there is a natural islet where you can go diving. From the viewpoint, you will be able to contemplate wonderful views of the cove and the Mediterranean sea.

Semi-urban cove, medium occupancy. Different to other beaches in the area, it has a golden sand surface and almost no equipments. The seabeds around this site form one of the Mediterranean's most important reserves and make it perfect for diving. First aid, lifeguard and salvage station, open July and August, 11am to 7pm.

Its crystal clear, quiet waters, which are also warm throughout the year due to their shallowness, make this beach perfect for families with children. Next to the beach, just a few metres away, visitors will find a great offer of restaurants and shops. During peak summer season, the chiringuitos offer a range of facilities such as hire of sunshades and loungers, and hire of pedal boats is also available. There are two children's play areas on the sand, one at each end of the beach. This beach has been awarded the `Q for Quality' because it complies with exigent requirements regarding hygiene, safety, facilities and premises.

It is in the town of Lo Pagán, and therefore it offers a wide range of facilities. During the peak season, the beach chiringuitos hire loungers and sunshades. This beach has been awarded the 'Q for Quality' because it complies with several requirements regarding hygiene, safety, facilities and premises

Playa del Lastre - Lastre Beach

It is the locals' favourite place to have a dip. It did not suffer that much the effects of mineral waste, since it is a protected cove. 90m long and medium occupancy. There is a small marina and fishing port next to it. The sea is usually calm. It offers a wide range of facilities: Red Cross lifeguard station with ambulance and small boat, car park, signalling flags, litter bins, showers, local police, sand cleaning, kiosk, nearby picnic area, seafront promenade.

A small, quiet cove, with fine golden sand. Its front is accessed from a natural path. It is in the Cabo Cope y Puntas de Calnegre protected reserve. It has calm waters, therefore the atmosphere is usually a familiar one. 40m long and 30m wide, it is usually busy during the summer; it has high occupancy. Car park reserved area.
